The Kennedy Center Directing Intensive brings together a cohort of like-minded early-career directors to create a supportive community and shared learning experience. The Intensive will engage participants in rigorous conversations, practical activities, and master classes.
Washington National Opera: Opera Institute

The WNO Opera Institute is a summer training program for high school singers interested in Citizen Artistry and exploring all that opera and vocal performance have to offer in college and as a career. Students will develop their skills as performers while exploring how to use their full array of talents to build a life for themselves, a better field, and a better world.
Curriculum Design
Broad Futures’ innovative curriculum focuses on professionalism, communication, and stress tolerance, while incorporating the arts, yoga, and mindfulness. Interns learn in a risk-free environment, where they can make mistakes, practice work situations, receive feedback, and enter the workplace more successfully and confidently.
Public Speaking Training
Introduce vocal techniques connected to verbal & non-verbal communication
Build awareness of habitual physical and vocal tendencies
Familiarize participants with relaxation techniques
Broaden participant’s ability to communicate text effectively in both large and small settings
